Types of Interviews

Official Interviews

These are the interviews required when you apply for specific opportunities on Mercor. Each interview is tailored to a specific listing to evaluate the skills needed for the role. They typically last about 20 minutes, but may be longer or shorter depending on the specific interview. You only need to take each unique interview once. If you apply to another role that requires an interview you’ve already completed, your previous result will be automatically used. Different roles may require different interviews. If you experience technical difficulties or other issues while completing your interview and would like to retake it, you can reset your interview by following the instructions here.

Practice Interviews

Practice interviews are a great way to get comfortable with the AI interview format in a private, no-pressure setting. You can take them as many times as you’d like, and your results are not shared with companies. We offer over 100 free practice interviews across more than 15 domains. General AI Interview Tips

  • Prepare your environment: Find a quiet, distraction-free space with a stable internet connection.
  • Test your setup: Test your camera, microphone, and speaker in the waiting room before joining the interview to make sure you have a smooth experience.
  • Listen carefully: Pay close attention to each question before you respond. It’s okay to pause and structure your thoughts or ask the AI to repeat a question.
  • Be clear and concise: Articulate your answers clearly and try not to take long pauses during your responses, otherwise the AI may interrupt you.
  • Exit the interview when you’re done: Once you’re done with the interview you can exit by pressing the red button or just closing the tab. If you’re unsure if the interview is over, you can ask the AI.
