If you were asked to use Insightful for time tracking, this guide is for you. If you weren’t, feel free to ignore this!

Setting up Insightful for the first time

Step 1: Accepting the invite from Insightful

Once you are added to a Project, you will receive an email invite that looks something like below to the email address that you have specified on the Mercor Platform.

Step 2: Download the desktop application

Click on the link to be directed to Insightful’s website. Download the appropriate Insightful desktop instance for your OS.

The downloaded Insightful app is called Workpuls

Step 3: Install and open the Workpuls app

Install and open the Workpuls app. Below is a screenshot of what you will see for a Windows OS.

All projects that you are able to work on will be shown here.

Step 4: Start and stop recording time

When ready to begin working on a project, select the project that you would like to work on and you will see a task assigned to you.

By clicking on the “Play” button you will be able to record time for this project. Stop recording time when you pause working on a project.

The desktop instance shows the cumulative for the task across multiple days.

I have not received an invite from Insightful similar to step one.

Please check your Spam folders and search for an email from “support@insightful.io

I am not seeing a project assigned to me.

You will be automatically added to a project once you have completed the necessary onboarding steps on the Mercor platform. Sometimes, this takes a few hours to sync and create the necessary permissions. If you continue to face this issue, please reach out to support@mercor.com

Where do I see a more detailed breakdown of past hours worked?

Click on the “Open Dashboard” button (see image below),which will direct you to the Insightful web portal where you will be able to see a more detailed breakdown of time by day and project.
