How your data appears on Mercor

1

Your data is stored securely

Following the submission of your résumé or participation in an interview, the data undergoes parsing and is subsequently utilized to enhance your profile and improve search visibility.
2

Companies can find talent through AI search

Employers are able to search for keywords such as “React engineers with Node.js” or “Patent lawyers in Brazil.” Our artificial intelligence system analyzes your résumé, interview transcript, and public profiles to assess the quality of matches.
3

What companies can see

Your Mercor profile encompasses experience, skills, education, and employment history. Compensation expectations are not publicly visible.
4

You control visibility

Deactivate the “Looking for Work” toggle within Communications > General to prevent your profile from being displayed to companies.

How Mercor uses AI

Mercor uses AI in three primary ways:

Understand your résumé

We analyze your résumé/CV and extract key experience to provide feedback and power job matches.

Conduct AI Interviews

Our AI interviewer generates questions based on your résumé and the job description, transcribes your responses, and evaluates your performance.

Recommend your profile

Our artificial intelligence evaluates your suitability and that of other candidates for various roles through the analysis of your résumé, interview performance, and publicly available profile data, such as GitHub.
In certain instances, human contractors assist us in assessing interview or matching performance. Their feedback enhances the models but is never utilized for making hiring decisions.

Additional Methods of Data Utilization

  • Assess and enhance the quality of interviews. Address and resolve bugs or matching problems
  • Train our internal recommendation models, ensuring that your data is never used to train third-party large language models (LLMs).
  • Improve the performance of the platform.
We do not utilize your interview data for the training of external AI models. Furthermore, we do not sell your interview or résumé data to any third parties.

How to delete your data

You may request the deletion by navigating to your Account Settings. A confirmation email will be sent to you once your account and associated data (including résumé, interview, transcript) have been removed from our system.
Mercor may retain your data if required by law. Deleting your account does not remove data from companies that may have already accessed it.

What Mercor does not do

  • Does not share practice interviews with companies
  • Does not show your profile if “Looking for Work” is disabled
  • Does not sell your résumé, profile, or interview data
  • Does not offer the AI interviewer or evaluation tools to external platforms

How Mercor Generates Revenue

Mercor applies a margin to companies’ pay rates once you accept a role. This fee compensates us for sourcing, vetting, and placing candidates. In summary, we only generate revenue when you are successfully placed on a project. Our AI models are specifically designed to optimize the likelihood of matching you with suitable employment opportunities.
