Assessments are structured instruments employed in conjunction with interviews to evaluate your skills, experience, and suitability for specific Mercor projects. This page explains how assessments work, their scoring methodology, and the expectations placed on you.

Reusable across listings
Certain evaluations may be listed under multiple entries. Each assessment is conducted on a listing-specific basis and may differ, even if the evaluations are identical.
Centralized on your dashboard
Every assessment you complete is stored in your Assessments tab for easy access and review at any time.
Your data is not for sale
Assessment data is never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes. It is used solely to evaluate skills relevant to Mercor projects and to improve matching accuracy.
1. What are assessments?
Assessments are components integrated into the listing application process. They may include:- Unique to a specific project, or
- Reused across multiple listings with different scoring criteria.
- The evaluation is consistently linked to the listing.
- Your score on one listing does not automatically transfer to another.
- Performance is interpreted within the framework of that client’s expectations.
- Your experience and background
- Your real work samples or portfolio
- Your practical and technical skills
- How you follow instructions, handle ambiguity, and solve real project-like tasks

All assessments tied to your profile appear here: https://work.mercor.com/home?tab=assessments From this page, you can:- Continue assessments still in progress
- View previously submitted assessments
- Edit assessments solely if they are explicitly designated as editable.

3. Can assessments be retaken?
Most assessments permit only a **single submission. **Once submitted, they cannot be reopened or edited. Some exceptions exist:- If an assessment is editable, selecting it in the Assessments tab allows you to modify answers and resubmit.
- If it is not editable, selecting it will display a locked or read-only view.
4. Time limits and autosave
Mercor assessments typically do not impose a time restriction. Talents are permitted to allocate as much time as necessary to complete the assessment. Most forms support autosave, but we strongly recommend:- Completing assessments in a single sitting
- Avoid leaving the form open for long idle periods
- Keeping personal backups of long written answers, in case of browser or network issues
- Submit as soon as you are ready, since listings may close without prior notice

Open the assessment
Access it through the Applications tab within your listing or directly via the Assessments tab.

Read all instructions
Instructions, examples, and reference materials may appear at the top of the form or within each question.

Respond to all required fields
Some questions may be multiple-choice, long-form text, file uploads, or links to external work samples.

Review carefully
Check all answers, attachments, and links before submitting.

Submit the assessment
For multi-page assessments, click Next until the final page.The Submit button will be disabled until all required responses are completed.

7. Restrictions
Some assessments intentionally disable copy-and-paste.This is expected and not a bug. These restrictions exist to ensure that:
- All answers are original
- Plagiarism is prevented
- Responses are not generated or rewritten by external AI tools
- Use LLMs (including ChatGPT or similar tools) to write answers
- Copy text from external sources
- Share or receive answers from other talents
- Repost assessment content anywhere
8. Integrity, confidentiality, and expectations
During any assessment:- Mercor staff cannot coach you or review draft answers
- Other talents cannot assist or collaborate with you
- Sharing screenshots, templates, or answer keys is strictly prohibited
- Used only to evaluate your fit for projects
- Stored securely
- Never shared or sold for commercial purposes
