Identifying a good match

You are marked as prequalified either automatically (based on match scores, availability, and completed requirements such as resume, verified interviews, and skills) or because a hiring team member found your profile through a search or listing outreach.

Project Team sends the Instant Offer

Prequalified candidates are treated as if they’ve already applied, so hiring teams can send an offer without requiring an application.

Candidate starts right away!

Once an offer is sent, the candidate receives an Instant Offer — in the app, by push notification, and by email — and can accept it without having applied, viewed the listing, or completed assessments. After accepting, you still complete the usual onboarding steps for that project (such as signing the offer letter and documents, setting up payments, and any checks the project requires) before you start work.

No. Instant Work Offers are non-exclusive. You can:
  • Receive multiple Instant Work Offers at the same time
  • Accept or decline each offer individually
  • Continue applying to other roles manually on Mercor
Yes, you can. You’re always welcome to apply directly to roles on Mercor, even if you’re currently being considered for instant work offers. Your ongoing applications won’t interfere with one another.
All offers—including Instant Work Offers—come with an expiry deadline. Please review the details and accept or decline before the deadline.What happens if I don’t respond?
If you don’t respond in time, the offer will expire automatically.
Where to find the deadline
  • It’s shown in your offer email and on your Mercor dashboard for that offer.
  • Instant offers also carry an Instant offer badge on the Contracts list and in Important tasks on Home, so you can spot them at a glance.
Your dashboard shows a Get instant work offers bar listing what’s left to complete — typically uploading your resume, adding your location, and taking an assessment. Its More info link opens the Instant Work Offers page in Mercor Docs.Strengthen your profile and signal readiness. Focus on:
  • 1) Complete your profile
    • Keep your resume current and complete
    • Make sure your location and work authorization details are accurate
    • Include portfolio links where relevant (GitHub, live apps, case studies, design decks)
    2) Keep skills current
    • Tag relevant skills, tools, and frameworks; remove outdated ones
    • Indicate proficiency levels and primary specialities
    3) Stay “offer-ready”
    • Set accurate availability (start date, weekly hours) and update it whenever it changes
    • Enable notifications (email/app) so you don’t miss time-sensitive offers
    4) Complete assessments & interviews
    • Finish any pending Mercor assessments or screenings
    • Periodically add new assessments as your skills evolve
    5) Be responsive
    • Accept/decline offers before the expiry deadline

The new earnings-sharing model introduced as a part of the New Referral Program (launched on 14 January 2026) allows referrers to earn 20% of their referral’s work earnings—hourly pay and bonuses—in real time, up to an earnings cap. Instant offers are sent only when your verified interviews, assessments, skills, and availability closely match what a role needs. When that happens, your profile may be shared with the hiring team as prequalified, and they can send you an offer even if you didn’t apply. Since not every role uses instant offers, updating your profile doesn’t always mean you’ll get one right away, as various factors are involved in the decision making process. As always, we recommend continuing to apply to roles on the Work Platform that best match your skills and experience.
